For local government IT leaders, the importance of personal brand building and leveraging LinkedIn cannot be underestimated. Both have become critical tools for establishing credibility and visibility.
A well-crafted personal brand serves as a testament to an IT leader's expertise, fostering trust among stakeholders, and positioning them as influential figures within their agencies.
Leveraging LinkedIn allows IT leaders to extend their reach outside of their agencies to learn, connect with like-minded professionals, and contribute to tech advancements within the public sector.
It is time for local government IT leaders to "Be Heard."
Attendees will be better enabled to break through the bureaucracy, be “thought leaders”, and actively shape the narrative around technology-driven initiatives. As well as enhancing your professional influence with a more informed and collaborative local administration.
12 noon - Lunch to be served at all locations!
***NEW: an afternoon workshop!***
1-3 pm - Tabletop Exercise with ThinkGard
Title: From Fear to Preparedness: Hands-On Ransomware Response Training"
Abstract: One of the biggest challenges facing IT departments today is fear - fear of what will happen in the event of a breach, ransomware attack or other significant outage. The best way to combat fear is preparation, not only with the products and strategies you’ve put in place to prevent these events from happening, but planning for how to respond if they do. With this in mind, ThinkGard is hosting a session that will not only walk you through a tabletop scenario, but better prepare you to bring this skill back to your organization and improve your overall response capabilities. In this session we will:
- Have the attendees form teams that will respond to specific phases of a simulated ransomware attack
- The scenarios will be broken down into phases and strategies will be discussed for each phase
- Individual teams will be called on to present their strategy to the larger group and to answer questions from the group on why they chose that strategy
- Prizes will be given to the teams that have the most complete and the most creative responses to each phase of the exercise
- There will be hard copies of the scenarios / strategies from each of the phase of the exercise as well as digital assets that can be used by the attendees later
We believe that this collaborative approach to learning is significantly more effective than just giving a presentation and handing off a blank planning template, and will allow the attendees to better understand how to facilitate a tabletop exercise with the stakeholders in their organization.
